Details:

Race 1: Schools and Public Sprint: Course lengths will be based on sprint distance (12-15min) winning times for the different grades.

Race 2: Schools Relay and Public Mass Start:

Schools Relay - Three person boys and girls teams. Mixed teams compete in boys grade. Individual legs - approximately 10min fastest time.

Public Mass start - Approximately 20min winning time, with multiple forking/gaffling.

The public events are open to everyone to enter.

Directions:

Parking/Start/Finish/Registration - Deer Park Heights (Peninsula Hill), Queenstown.
Sign posted off Peninsula Road, Kelvin Peninsula.
Around 15min drive from Queenstown Airport.

Times:

Race 1: Start times between 9:00am and 10:00am

Race 2: Mass start public event 11:10pm, Schools Relay 11:50am 

Prize Giving: 1:00pm 

Entry Fees:

Adults $30 (The entry fee for this day is the same whether you enter one or both races

Junior $15 (20 years and under)

Family maximum $70

Map and Terrain:

Deer Park Heights is prominent, glacier carved hill with superb views over Queenstown and surrounds.
The competition area is on private land consisting of open grass with rock and contour detail.
This area has been unused for many years and is remapped for this event. - previously mapped by Bruce McLeod in 2006

Course 1: Red Long (Technical - Long)
Course 2: Red Medium (Technical - Medium)
Course 3: Red Short (Technical - Short)
Course 4: Orange (Medium - Medium)
Course 5: Yellow (Easy - Short)
Course 6: White (Very Easy - Short)

Schools Grades:

Senior Boys and Girls (Red - Medium)
Intermediate Boys and Girls (Orange)
Junior Boys and Junior Girls (Yellow)
Year 7/8 Boys and Girls (White)
Year 4/5/6 Boys and Girls (White)

Control punching: SFR system  

Safety:

The event covers some steep country in parts, including numerous cliffs and bluffs.
Please be aware the grass can be very slippery in places!
