Waiorau Snowgaine 2026 Results

Wow, what a fun day up at the Snow Farm yesterday. We were so pleased the weather held for us and we were able to put on our 5 hour and 2 hour event. Thanks to all those who showed up, and particularly well done to the keen 5 hour beans who explored the more wild and out there parts of the Pisa's to find some of the more remote checkpoints.

It was interesting to see the variety of modes of transport these teams took - from xc skis with snow shoes for the off piste sections, classic skis with skins and light weight touring gear. Given the soft soggy snow conditions I think the touring gear won out this time around.

We were also stoked to see so many enthusiastic youngsters and their parents giving the 2 hour competition a go and doing very well at it. Mostly they used xc skis, but there were a few snow shoes in the mix too.

At the prizegiving it was awesome to see lots of happy faces receiving the awesome prizes from RAB and MT Outdoors 3Parks. Thanks so much to these guys for supporting us, and make sure to mention that if you are in store. Also thanks to the Snow Farm for hosting us and letting us hang out in their nice warm Base Building.
